Preserve the established and drive forward innovations
We presented our current innovation “dur” for the first time in 2017. Over the past two years, we have successively switched individual felting and structuring needle types from the standard needle steel to our new dur material.
You can't see anything different about the needles at first glance, but they certainly have a lot to offer: The new material selection, in combination with a new, patented production process, extends the lifetime of Groz-Beckert dur needles (compared with the standard needle) – both in terms of wear and with regard to rust.
You have the choice
We improve our products to increase your productivity/quality.
Adapt your needle rotation system to dur and benefit from reduced machine downtimes. Thanks to the improved wear-resistance, dur needles can stay in the machine for longer and the intervals between replacement are longer. A detailed description is available in our newsletter archive.
Keep your needle rotation and increase your product quality at the same time. Needle barbs and forks retain their original shape significantly longer and can thus perform at the same level for a longer period of time. At the time of your current needle change, dur needles are therefore less worn compared with standard needles. This has a significant impact on your product quality.
More dur – less standard
In the coming year and subsequent years too, Groz-Beckert dur will continue to gradually replace our needle portfolio. By 2020, we will have switched over 100% of our fine gauge fork needles.
Will your needles be affected by the switch? Get in touch - we will be happy to answer your questions and provide detailed information.

An even longer lifetime can be achieved with dur fork needles compared with felting needles.
