Groz-Beckert at Techtextil 2013
Albstadt/Frankfurt on the Main. Techtextil, the international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, takes place from June 11th-13th 2013. In line with the trade fair motto „Innovations for life“ Groz-Beckert presents at Techtextil practice-oriented innovative applications. Groz-Beckert focuses on technical textiles in automobiles and will show them in a surprising way in hall 3.0, booth F03.
Technical textiles in automobiles assume important functions in terms of safety, comfort, design and acoustic. Today 35 m2 resp. 28 kilo of textiles are used per vehicle. Besides woven and knitted fabric, the classical material for the interior, especially nonwovens play a central role here.
As a result of higher requirements on comfort and safety, the range of textile applications expands constantly. Moreover, end-users attach greater importance to high quality concerning the look and feel as well as the durability of textile components. Therefore automobile manufacturers rely on the competences of the textile industry. Groz-Beckert is the experienced partner in this field and provides a high-quality product portfolio for the production of technical textiles.
When it comes to mobility, nonwovens have proven themselves to be truly versatile. They save resources when used in street construction, and make automobiles more comfortable. In the door panel, car seats, air conditioning and filters and as insulating material nonwovens fulfill essential functions.
In applications where elasticity and resilience is required knitted fabric is used. Examples are the roof liner or special knit fabrics as base support for the lining. Due to its breaking strength and low elongation woven fabric is the perfect material for seat covers, airbags and safety belts. When wear resistance and robustness is needed in the automobile – in the floor and trunk area and in footmats – tufted material is extensively applied.
The seams in the automobile are subject to high requirement, so that they create safe connections in airbags and safety belts. Decorative seams additionally must have an even seam appearance.
At the Groz-Beckert booth, this diversity of textiles will in an unusual way be demonstrated on the basis of a car. It is cut open at the crucial parts, so that nearly all applications are visible. For manufacturer of nonwovens the Board Master System will be presented. It is an innovative and money-saving system solution enabling safe and efficient needling of needle boards.
