The textile world at a glance: From art to history
World of Weaving – a textile surface that can be used in countless ways (Part II)
With its weaving preparation machines and weaving accessories, Groz-Beckert lays the foundation for a seamless production chain and consistently high fabric quality. Fabric quality plays a significant role in curtain and furnishing fabrics.
Cover fabrics
We have very high requirements for fabrics anywhere they come into direct contact with our skin, especially with regards to hygiene and skin irritability. The classic cover fabrics include bedding and upholstery, among others. The manufacturers thereof are, for example, Trident Ltd. or Orbit Exports Ltd. in India, the Shandong Yingshilai Textile Co., Ltd. as well as the Zhejiang Ningbo Yilan Cloth Craft Co., Ltd. in China. In order to meet the demands placed upon them, these manufacturers trust in the experience and quality awareness of Groz-Beckert as a system provider in the weaving industry.
Awning fabrics
Special fiber blends and an extremely thick weave ensure that these fabrics are resistant to weather and UV, impervious to water, durable, and have a long product life. In this industry in particular, 100% trust in the accessories for the weaving process is important. The Schmitz-Werke GmbH + Co. KG, a German manufacturer of awnings, curtains, furnishing and upholstery fabrics, also relies on the weaving preparation machines and weaving equipment from Groz-Beckert.
Curtain fabrics
Curtain fabrics decorate almost every living space as accessories for a beautiful and cozy home. In addition to their decorative effect, curtains serve additional purposes such as privacy, darkening, sound insulation, room division and much more. The Müller Zell GmbH and Neutex Betriebs GmbH are among the most well-known German manufacturers of curtain fabrics. With its comprehensive and diverse product portfolio, Groz-Beckert also provides you with the best solutions for your high demands.
In order to enable weaving mills to operate machines at high speeds, Groz-Beckert offers its customers the ALtop Hybrid and ALtop Hybrid+ as high-performance heald frames. The reinforcement of the fabric staves with carbon fibers, coupled with the proven ALtop corner connection system, has established new standards in the areas of bending resistance and performance at high machine operating speeds. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to use one or more intermediate supports, even for wider machine widths. The elimination of an intermediate support requirement improves ease of handling and eliminates the potential for fabric streaks.

Did you know this?
The ALtop Hybrid+ heald frame from Groz-Beckert, reinforced with carbon fiber, is subjected to a weight of 310 kg during the weaving process. If one were to apply the same conditions to people, a person weighing 80 kg would have to carry an Orca on his shoulders.
