This training outlines basic knowledge on the mechanical web formation process – from bale to web. Special attention will be paid to the roller card carding process, with answers to such questions as "What happens to the fibers in the carding process?", "Which tools are used?" and "Which parameters influence the quality of the nonwoven product?".

Goals

  • You will receive a general overview of nonwovens.
  • You will learn about the process of web formation – from fiber preparation to the final web.
  • You will learn about the carding process in detail.
  • You will find out what tools are required for web formation.
  • You will acquire knowledge about technical properties, definitions and terms of carding technology.

Target Group

Based on our experience, this course is suitable for beginners or for specialists from other textile areas who are looking to refresh and expand their existing knowledge.

Prerequisites

No previous knowledge is required for this basics course. We do, however, recommend combining it with the “Textile chain” or “Fiber theory” courses, as well as “Felting Technology - mechanical web bonding".

Methodology

The training consists of an interactive presentation with a wide range of examples from practice and illustrated material. Detailed explanations on the roller card complete the training.
